Member of Parliament for Damongo Constituency, Samuel Abu Jinapor has supported the St Anne's Catholic hospital with an amount of $10,000 following an appeal by the management of the hospital to repair their X-ray machine which had been out of use for the past six months.
The member of parliament who visited the hospital last week was informed about the patients being referred to other facilities as result of the breakdown of the machine.
Donating the cash on behalf of the Damongo MP,Hon. Musah Karim Kusubari, Municipal Chief Executive of West Gonja Municipal indicated that the MP is much touched by the breakdown of the machine and has directed him to present the cash amount on his behalf.
Dr. Nelson Agbodoh, Medical Director of St. Anne Hospital, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Mr Abu Jinapor for fulfilling his promise. The hospital acknowledges the MP’s unwavering support and commitment to improving healthcare in the region.
The St. Anne Hospital’s sole X-ray machine broke down six months ago, and the administration sought $15,000 to repair it. Hon. Abu Jinapor’s timely donation brings hope to the hospital’s efforts to restore vital medical services.
Mr Samuel Abu Jinapor then deputy chief of staff in the year 2020 facilitated the installation the digital X-ray machine for the St Anne's Catholic Hospital in Damongo through the National Health Insurance Scheme(NHIS).
The West Gonja Catholic Hospital was without an X-ray machine after the one the facility was using developed a problem.
Patients with cases that involves the use of the X-ray machine had to be reffered to the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
The hospital through the assistance of Abu Jinapor acquired the Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) X-ray machine at a cost of Ghc131,724.93 which saw the installation of the machine.
