Kong:Lobi Chiefs Of Côte d'Ivoire And Burkina Faso Appeal For Unity With The People Of Gonjaland

 



The paramount Chief of Lobis in Cotedvoire HRM Sib Virkoune has appealed to the overlord of the Gonja Kingdom through the Kongwura to forgive his people in the Gonja Kingdom and accept them back to the kingdom after the Gbinyiri conflict.

The chief who spoke through an interpreter indicated that the misbehavior of some of his people led to the conflict even when they knew they own no land in Gonjaland. 


Addressing the chiefs and people of Kong in the Kong Traditional Area, the Lobi overlordHRM Sib Virkoune appealed for a peaceful coexistence between the two tribes and indicated that his people had lived together with the Gonjas in the area for a long time.


HRM Bifatey II - Overlord of Lobis South East Region of Burkina Faso Gauua who was also in attendance at the Kongwura's 10th anniversary also added his voice in calling for peace between their people and the Gonjas.

Accompanied by a high powered delegation from Burkina Faso,HRM Bifatey indicated that development comes to every area when there is peace.


His Royal Eminence Prof. Dr. Kiwanuka Omulangirizi of Buganda Kingdom Uganda who came all the way from Uganda to support the Kongwura in his speech praised the Kongwura for his exemplary leadership in his kingdom and also described him as a development oriented person.

He said the Kongwura enskinned him as the Kitchitowura of the Kong Traditional Area and that makes him a son of Kong.
