The Member of parliament for the Damongo constituency Hon Samuel Abu Jinapor has appealed to the people of the Damongo constituency to retain him in parliament to continue to bring more development to the people of the Constituency. Addressing party faithfuls at the Hangaline/Ngbaripe electoral area over the weekend, the lands and natural resources minister disclosed to the people of the Damongo constituency that the next NPP government will construct a public university and a regional hospital in the Savannah Regional capital of Damongo.
Hon. Jinapor indicated that the NPP under the leadership of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and himself has a five point development plan to be executed in the Damongo constituency which includes the construction of the regional hospital and the public university and should be given the mandate again to execute that as the member of parliament.
Recounting the developmental projects executed under his first term as MP for the Damongo Constituency,Hon. Abu Jinapor said he has been able to facilitate in the employment of many of the youth of the Damongo constituency into the many sectors of the government and that if his opponents were able to get half of the jobs he secured for the teaming youth of Damongo when they were in power, it would have helped reduce the unemployment rate in the constituency.
He added that under his watch as MP, he has been able to open new roads in Damongo whilst improving on the Damongo township roads by asphalting the Damongo township roads which is first of its kind in the whole of Savannah Region.
Abu Jinapor said he built three astroturfs in the Damongo constituency at Damongo town, Larabanga and Busunu.
He said he constructed the Ngbaripe drainage system, built a school at Almanara, women
empowerment program, support for farmers among others.
On water,he said the Damongo water project is ongoing and in the next few weeks would be commissioned including the Damongo weekly market which is under construction.
Hon. Abu Jinapor revealed that when voted to power, the five point development plan of the next NPP government under the leadership of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as president and with him as MP include building of a regional hospital in Damongo, building of a public university in Damongo, creation of local employment, women empowerment and improving on agricultural activities in the Damongo constituency.
On his political opponents, the Damongo MP reminded the people of the constituency that the NDC and the NPP are the same people who are never enemies and should be seen as playmates.
He mentioned that violence should not be part in the daily activities of any political group as Ghana is days away from the polls.
On his electoral fortunes, he said his campaign is in second gear now and that in the first week of November, his opponents will throw the towel even before the election as he comes with the final gears with unprecedented campaign in the history of the Damongo constituency in the final gears leading to the 2024 elections
A former youth organiser of the NDC, Alhaji Rambo who has now pitched camp with the NPP justified reasons why he he left the NDC and with a group of some supporters of the opposition NDC declared their full support for the Damongo MP and the NPP.
Hon. Jinapor thanked the people of the Damongo Constituency especially the Ngbaripe/Alhassankura/Hangaline electoral area for their loyalty and support for him all this while till date.
Meanwhile, Municipal chief executive for the West Gonja Municipal Assembly Hon Musah Kusubari Karim also in an address appealed for votes for the NPP candidate.
