Newly elected vice President Of the national house of chiefs of Ghana, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II has returned home to rousing welcome following his election to occupy the highest office of the national house of chiefs.
100s of residents of the Buipe township cladded in white paraded the principal streets of Buipe to show how proud they were of the historic election of the paramount chief of the Buipe traditional area to that high office.
His victory marks a historic milestone as he becomes the first paramount chief in the Savannah Region to hold the distinguished position.
Buipewura Jinapor in a speech indicated that his victory is a seed sown for the Savannah Region and therefore needs the technical support in the discharge of his duties as the vice president of the national house of chiefs.
He indicated further that his new position comes with strategies and developmental ideas to the Savannah Region.
He hinted of the immediate formation and launching of the Jinapor Foundation in December aimed at supporting the brilliant but needy in the Savannah Region.
Buipewura Jinapor mentioned further that the foundation will also focused on the attraction of investors into the Savannah Region through effective local and diaspora collaboration and networking.
The new era of transformative Chieftaincy according to the Buipewura will establish the Savannah Region farmers association or brigade across the domain of the Savannah Region.
He said the farmers association will front the agriculture sector of the region,thereby positioning the region strategically in resolving food security matters of the region and beyond.
On election 2024, he said both the candidates of the NDC and NPP are sons of the north, hence there is no winner or loser in the December polls and cautioned the youth of the Savannah Region not to allow politicians to use them for violence.
Linguist of the overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, Mr Adamsay on behalf of the Yagbonwura mentioned that in the Gonja kingdom,there should be respect among the elderly and youth as that is missing.
He called on everybody in the kingdom to support the Buipewura to achieve all that he has for the kingdom following his election.
Buipewura Jinapor won 54 out of 73 votes casted during the contest which saw him contesting with 4 other chiefs.
