Buipewura Jinapor II Wins National House Of Chiefs Vice Presidential Position With Highest Votes

Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II


Paramount chief of the Buipe traditional area Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II has been elected as the vice president of the National House Of chiefs, beating 3 other contestants with a big margin.

The national house of chiefs elections which took place in Kumasi on Friday 22nd November 2024 Saw  Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II polled 52 votes to beat his three contenders to the Vice President seat.


Meanwhile, Nana Ogyeahohuo Yaw Gyebi II has been re-elected for a second term as the President of the National House of Chiefs.

He won with 42 votes against 30 votes polled by the Chief of Dormaa, Osaagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II, with one rejected ballot.

Earlier,the election was delayed for hours as the house deliberated on a legal suit filed by the Sampa Chief, Nana Samgba Gyafla.

Biography Of Buipewura Jinapor II


His Royal Majesty Buipewura Jinapor II,  born on 6th April, 1948 at old Buipe, Savannah Region to Buipewura Chilipolima I, and Madam Miyama Ayuwa all of blessed memory.

Jira Buipewura Jinapor II, known in his private life as Mahama Abdulai Jinapor, is a pioneering beneficiary of colonial education at East Gonja-Salaga were he attained stanza 4.


Buipewura Jinapor II has an amazing biography with vast field of expertise. He started life as a classroom teacher in 1967.

1969 he joined Ghana police service 1970, serving the service for 39years and retired as Assistant Superintendent of Police, finally, were he completely switched to traditional leadership currently with over three decades of experience.

Jira is happily married to mrs Alice Achulo Jinapor for over (5) five decades.


On Friday, 13th June, 2008 he was enskined as paramount chief of BUIPE Traditional Area. He is currently 16years on the throne and still reigning as Buipewura.

Jira Buipewura Jinapor II, has five (5) children of whom some are scholars in academia, law, business and politics.
