This single image tells a story more profound than words could ever express. It captures the essence of what Ghana truly needs: humility, respect, and unity.
In the heat of political campaigns, emotions often run high, and the competition can be stiff, sometimes even bitter. But this picture is a testament to the higher calling that binds us all: the development of Ghana.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s respectful bow to President John Mahama transcends political affiliations. It speaks volumes about the strength of character required to set aside differences and acknowledge the humanity and leadership in one another. It is a gesture that reminds us that after the banners are folded, the slogans are silenced, and the election dust settles, we all belong under one canopy, not divided by partisanship, but united in purpose.
This act dispels the often misguided perception that politics must be synonymous with arrogance or animosity. Instead, it shows that humility is not a weakness but ab mark of true leadership.
Let this image serve as a beacon for all Ghanaians. No matter where we stand politically, our ultimate focus should remain on the collective goal: a better, stronger, and united Ghana.

The gesture of the former Veep from an independent perspective is worth commending.
ReplyDeleteAfterall, we are all Ghanaians with a common interest and destiny.
But to seem to suggest to the whole world, that this singular action should be taken in isolation in order to cleans the former Veep will be an over statement.
Recounting the name callings, he meted out to President Mahama in this same political atmosphere will be seen today as a deliberate attempt to tarnish his image further after the humiliating defeat he suffered in the just ended elections.
If the writer had expressed this sentiment within the spirit of forgiveness and reconciliation after practical lessons were learnt, I would have understood and accepted the context he is coming from.
In fact, more critically minded persons will rather perceive this gesture of the former Veep as rebranding of his public image after the results of the elections humbled him and his party.
The above notwithstanding, I will encourage all politicians and indeed all of us, to demonstrate humility and integrity at all times regardless of our current positions and authority because, as the saying goes: "no condition is ever permanent".
A word to the wise is enough.
Thank you.
