Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor

The Member of Parliament for Damongo, Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor, has embarked on a major repair exercise aimed at restoring all nonfunctional streetlights along the main roads of Damongo, starting with the Damongo Hospital road.

It will be recalled that residents of Damongo in the Savannah Region capital have been voicing concerns over a period of time regarding the non-functional streetlights along major township roads which have led to frequent road accidents and growing insecurity due to the lack of street lighting.

As part of efforts to curb road accidents and other criminal activities in Damongo township, especially at night, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Damongo has provided over 300 streetlights.

The initiative, which officially commenced at the Disco 7 section of the Canteen Road, seeks to restore and replace defective streetlights to enhance visibility and security in the area. This endeavor comes as a direct response to longstanding concerns raised by residents regarding subpar lighting conditions along key routes in the township.

The initiative, launched by Hon. Jinapor, who also serves as the ranking member on the Foreign Affairs Committee of Ghana's parliament, has received widespread support and is viewed as a crucial step towards enhancing safety and improving the overall environment of the municipality.

On-site supervision of the ongoing works is led by key constituency executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), comprising the Constituency Secretary, Treasurer, and Communications Director, to ensure efficient project progression.
