Hon. John Jinapor Commissions 9 Mechanised Boreholes In Yapei -Kusawgu Constituency

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition as well as Member of Parliament for Yapei Kusawgu, Hon. Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, has commissioned nine newly constructed mechanised boreholes to improve access to potable water in several communities within the constituency.

The project, which forms part of the MP’s broader development agenda, seeks to tackle the long-standing challenge of water scarcity faced by many households in the area, particularly during the dry season.

Communities that benefited from the intervention include Ali Complex, Cemetery, Fire Service, Near MP’s House, Technical, Chanchanco, Chanchanco (Second Site), Yipala East, and the Fulani Borehole at Mpaha Junction.

Addressing community members during the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Jinapor expressed satisfaction with the successful completion of the project, describing it as a significant step towards ensuring that every community in Yapei Kusawgu has access to clean and safe drinking water.

He emphasized that access to water is a fundamental human need and a key driver of health and productivity, noting that the borehole initiative would go a long way to reduce the burden on women and children who often trek long distances in search of water.

Hon. Jinapor reiterated his unwavering commitment to improving living conditions in the constituency through sustainable and impactful interventions in the areas of water, education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

“This is part of our continuous effort to bring meaningful development to our people. We are not only focused on water but also working hard to expand access to quality education, healthcare facilities, and good roads,” he said.

He further assured residents that similar projects are ongoing in other communities as part of a deliberate strategy to ensure equitable distribution of social amenities and accelerate inclusive development across the Yapei Kusawgu constituency.

The commissioning of the boreholes was met with joy and appreciation from residents, many of whom commended the MP for his consistent efforts to address the needs of the people through practical and life-changing initiatives.
