Gonjaland Deserve To Build A Big Statue In Honor Of President Akufo-Addo - Kantama Alhaji Nabco

Savannah Regional GOTV Coordinator and Aide to the Savannah Regional Chairman, Kanyiti Saburu Kantama (Alhaji Nabco), has praised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's transformative achievements in the region, advocating for a statue to be built in his honor. On a political talk show with host Ezekiel Abdul-Aziz (majority leader) on Damongo-based Spear FM, Alhaji Nabco emphasized the need for the dignified people of Gonjaland to show gratitude to President Akufo-Addo for his unmatched developmental strides.

According to Kantama, the people of Gonjaland and Savannah had previously supported former President John Dramani Mahama by electing him and giving the National Democratic Congress (NDC) all seven parliamentary seats in the region. However, John Mahama never appointed any of the 7 NDC MPs to key positions under his presidency, not even a Deputy Ministerial appointment or a position on any board.

Kantama noted, "The creation of the Savannah Region has elevated the Yagbonwura, King and overlord of the Gonja kingdom, to a status of regional house of chiefs president and, for that matter, a lifetime president to the house, as well as our religious leaders, such as a regional chief imam and other leadership of some organizations and union bodies." In contrast, President Akufo-Addo has given sons of the region ministerial appointments, cabinet ministers, CEOs, board chairs, managing directors, and many other appointments.

Alhaji Nabco believes President Akufo-Addo deserves to be honored by the people of Savannah Region, suggesting that a statue be built in the region to recognize his contributions. "I urge the people of Savannah Region to look at the massive developments by the NPP government and vote massively for the visionary Bawumia, who has bold solutions for the future, and not 'Nkuko N'ketekete Mahama'," Kantama urged. He also canvassed for votes for the NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, and the Damongo MP, Samuel A. Jinapor, to be retained on December 7, as well as all other NPP PCs in the Region.
