Damongo Constituency Dagomba Community Confers On Abu Jinapor "Tumalana Jinapor I"




The Dagomba community in the Damongo constituency has conferred on the member of parliament for the Damongo constituency Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor chieftaincy title Tumalana Jinapor I.

Tumalana, which literally means the chief of development was conferred on the Damongo MP on Saturday 30th November,2024 in Sumpini following Hon. Abu Jinapor's several interventions in bringing development to the Dagomba communities in the Damongo constituency.

The Dagomba communities are predominantly farming communities in the Constituency who under the auspices of the Damongo MP have been given facelifts including the provision of schools, electricity etc.

Paramount chief of the Busunu traditional area, Busunuwura Jonokpowu Monasa II in a speech delivered on his behalf praised the Damongo MP for all that he has done for the communities in his traditional area.

He also used the opportunity to appeal to the member of parliament to help provide the primary school in Sumpini with a borehole which the member of parliament has assured him of doing it as soon as possible.




Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor in a speech thanked the over 30 Dagomba communities for the honor done him by adding to his name the Tumalana of the Damongo Constituency and indicated that he will do more to ensure more development is brought to their doorsteps.

He disclosed to the Dagomba Chief of the Damongo constituency and his people of establishing the Dagomba community educational fund that will help the poor and the needy in the communities attain greater height in education.

He also assured them of commissioning the electricity projects in the next two weeks in some of the Dagomba communities near Busunu in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the member of parliament for the Damongo constituency and minister for lands and natural resources has commissioned a six unit classroom block at Sumpini near Busunu immediately after his conferment. 

School children in the Sumpini community on daily basis attends school in the next community of Kojope following the lack of classroom blocks in the community.

These will soon be a thing of the past as the newly built classroom block will curb the suffering of the school children in that area.
