As Ghana prepares to go to the polls on December 7, 2024, Mankpanwura Jakpa Achor-Ade Borenyi (I), Paramount Chief of Mankpan Traditional Area, has added his voice to the call for peaceful elections. The Paramount Chief, who is also a Member of Savannah Region House of Chiefs and the National House of Chiefs, cautioned that electoral violence has had devastating consequences for many countries in the past. He appealed to the people of Mankpan, Yapei-Kusawgu, and the nation at large to prioritize peace as they elect their leaders for the next four years.
Mankpanwura also highlighted Ghana's reputation as a beacon of hope for democracy in Africa, emphasizing that the upcoming elections will be closely watched by the international community. He urged Ghanaians to prove to the world that they are united and committed to peaceful coexistence.
As Ghana prepares to head to the polls, Mankpanwura's call for peace echoes the sentiments of other prominent leaders and organizations, including Jira Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale (I), King and Overlord of Gonja Kingdom and President of the Savannah Region House of Chiefs who has also advocated for peaceful elections.
